This is one of the most competitive D1AA seasons in recent years.
As a result, being ranked is a massive compliment, and not really such an honor because we think the best team might still be ranked at #15. Who's to say Boston College isn't the best team around?
Because everyone is so close, and because so many of the well-ranked teams won over the weekend, it's pretty tough on Clemson when they lose by "only" 29 and drop five spots. Babson of course shoots up after the upset win over Northeastern.
And ... hmm ... did we say #15? What about #20? UNC-Charlotte could be the best team.
Conference finals, NCR's playoffs, plus the Heart of America semis and finals, are all on the horizon (or closer).
Think on this upcoming weekend:
#3 Iowa vs #8 Kansas
#6 Iowa State vs #11 Oklahoma
#15 Boston College vs #16 Babson
#12 Texas A&M vs #13 Sam Houston State
#19 West Chester vs #26 Delaware
#7 Virginia Tech vs #20 St. Joe's
#10 Western Washington vs #28 Central Washington
#2 Louisville vs #5 Bowling Green
#1 Tennessee vs #4 Kentucky
That's a pretty impressive group.
