This weekend is not only about #1 vs #2.
Although, that is pretty cool.
#1 vs #2 as Xavier and St. Ignatius Clash
We've got more. Defending champions (School and Club) might well face off in the Gonzaga Classic. Gonzaga and the Charlotte Cardinals met up in the final of that tournament last year and that came down to the wire. They have already played each other, so the rematch could be fun. There's also a team from Guam in this year's tournament.
In another tournament, the SLUH All-Catholic Tournament, St. Thomas Aquinas plays SLUH for a National Championships play-in. We're also very intrigued by Marquette vs Notre Dame de la Salette.
Two of the potentially top teams in Indiana with Bishop Dwenger at Pendleton.
Wisconsin gets underway. Expanded Wisconsin HS League Kicks Off, and so does Minnesota.
The Texas-Louisiana quarterfinals see some really compelling games, probably led by Lake Travis vs Jesuit New Orleans. They met in February and Lake Travis won 15-14. So the rematch should be fun.
St. Thomas is at Strake Jesuit (Strake won their previous meeting 20-6).
Georgetown Prep is hosting St. Augustine from New Jersey, while a very good Detroit Central Catholic team visits Archbishop Moeller in Ohio.
The Florida season wraps up with playoff seeds at stake.
In Southern California, we've got a HS National-Championships play-in with Belmont vs SOC Raptors. And we've got a Nationals-level game in Utah in Herriman at Cavemen.
You see ... it's pretty busy.
