Massachusetts IAA Crowns Three Champions Saturday
Saturday sees the Massachusetts IAA finals held at Curry College in Milton, Mass.
Three champions will be crowned with Belmont HS taking on Lincoln-Sudbury in the girls final and Weymouth facing Hanover in the Boys D2.
The Girls final and the Boys D1 Final will be shown LIVE at 2PM and 4PM, ET, here>>
Belmont's girls team got a visit over the weekend from USA 7s star Kristi Kirshe, who is from Massachusetts. Kirshe reffed a training and ran the girls through some attack lines as they prepared for the final.
BC High will face Belmont in the boys final after Belmont defeated St. John's Prep 29-7 last Friday to set up the final. BC High had already played and beaten Milton HS on June 9.
The seedings for the playoffs were based on power rankings that took into account won-loss record but also strength of schedule.
Going into the final, then, BC High is 4-2 and Belmont 6-1. Weymouth sits 6-1 after their 49-7 semifinal win over Catholic Memorial. Hanover is now 7-2.
In the girls bracket, Belmont is undefeated, while Lincoln-Sudbury is 4-2.
