Here's a great idea for a rugby gift—get the favorite rugby person in your life a personalized rugby ball.

Through MyGilbertRugby.com (operated by Ballpix, Ltd.)you can get a rugby ball personalized with a specific name. Choose from balls associated with specific national teams (check out the list on the site), or some other teams (GRR chose the Barbarians FC ball) or the Gilbert logo.

These are high-quality rugby balls from world-renowned Gilbert Rugby.

This is also a great way for US-based teams to raise funds. Clemson University Rugby, Texas A&M University, and the California Grizzlies have all partnered with Ballpix Ltd. and My Gilbert Rugby to create new opportunities for fundraising, player recognition, alumni engagement and sponsorship.

The rugby ball has always been at the center of the game. Now, players, coaches and supporters can put their own names, numbers, crests and memories on it.

Ballpix Ltd., operator of My Gilbert Rugby, has appointed commercial growth executive Chris Curran to help lead the expansion of My Gilbert Rugby throughout North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

My Gilbert Rugby is the world’s only official Gilbert Rugby personalization service, turning authentic Gilbert balls into one-of-a-kind keepsakes featuring player names, club crests, squad numbers, commemorative messages, sponsor branding and milestone achievements.

The expansion gives rugby clubs, schools, colleges, academies, tournaments, alumni organizations, sponsors and supporters a new way to celebrate the people who make the sport special while generating financial support for rugby development.

“This is about much more than putting someone’s name on a rugby ball,” said Curran. “It is about celebrating the players, coaches and moments that make rugby special, while helping clubs put more money back into the game. And frankly, a personalized Gilbert is a lot more exciting than another plaque gathering dust.”

Early programs are underway with rugby organizations at Clemson University, Texas A&M University and the California Grizzlies. These programs will explore how personalized Gilbert balls can support club fundraising, alumni engagement, player recognition and sponsor activation.

Participating organizations can offer supporters officially personalized Gilbert balls while earning sponsorship revenue from qualifying purchases. There are no minimum order requirements, inventory commitments or boxes of unsold merchandise waiting in the clubhouse.

Curran has supported rugby coaches and clubs throughout his region and has watched his son progress through high school, club, regional and academy rugby before beginning his collegiate career with Clemson Rugby. That experience helped shape his vision for the Americas expansion.

“I have seen firsthand what rugby gives young people,” Curran said. “Confidence, discipline, resilience, teamwork, friendships and a community that can last a lifetime. Our goal is to build a successful business that also helps fund player development, coaching, club programs and greater access to the sport.”

Richard Askam, co-founder of Ballpix Ltd., created My Gilbert Rugby to transform one of rugby’s most iconic products into something deeply personal.

“Every rugby player remembers the teams, people and moments that shaped their journey,” said Askam. “A personalized Gilbert captures those memories on the most recognizable object in the sport. Chris understands the commercial opportunity, but more importantly, he understands why rugby people care so deeply about the game.”

My Gilbert Rugby currently serves customers in more than 60 countries. Each ball is produced to order, allowing individuals and organizations to create something completely personal without minimum quantities.

The longer term vision for the Americas includes expanded club and collegiate programs, regional partnerships, localized fulfillment, licensed production, fundraising initiatives and additional personalized rugby products.

“This begins with personalized rugby balls, but the opportunity is much larger,” Curran said. “We want to help rugby organizations recognize players, reconnect with alumni, attract sponsors, raise money and create experiences that strengthen their communities. When commercial growth helps grow the game, everyone wins.”
