Some good cross-border games are coming up and Woodlands is taking a trip to the Heartland to play the KC Jr. Blues and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Now that applications for Boys HS Nationals are in, now we get to evaluate what teams that we think applied to the tournament are able to do. We're pretty sure the Woodlands trip involves a team are two that fits into that category.
Southern California picks a single-school champion with Orange Lutheran vs Los Alamitos. The school-season non-single-school bracket has semis and final over the weekend. (These teams are mostly from the same school. Sometimes they have their entire roster from the same school but can't guarantee that and so fit into this Multi-School school-team bracket.) Carlsbad favored in this one? Well this has been a winter of surprises.
The school-season final in North Carolina is Hough vs Marvin Ridge. Marvin Ridge is looking for the triple: School championship, Tier 2 championship, and Middle-School championship.
Boca vs Tampa is a big one. De La Salle is at Bishop O'Dowd and that's one to watch in Northern California.
Also in Southern California the SCIRF finals weekend is an interesting one. Cathedral Catholic takes on St. Augustine in the SCIRF final. Meanwhile, La Costa Canyon, which won the D2 final last week over Mira Costa, plays Fallbrook in a crossover between D2 and D1. It's a good test for both.
In Knoville, Tenn. is the President's Cup with Tennessee teams Raptor Rugby, 901, Father Ryan, along with Indiana's Pendleton (always up for a trip), and St. Xavier from Ohio. This is a very strong group of teams and we're pay close attention to this.
