Herriman Solid In Shutout Of Olympus
Herriman HS defeated Olympus 26-0 in a tough, physical game at Herriman HS last Saturday, winning a meeting between two ranked teams—Herriman is #4 and Olympus #12 in the FloRugby Single-School rankings.
Herriman was in control from the get-go and got first half tries from Connor Hyde, Isaac McQueen, and Payton Fountaine. Both teams played strong defense, but Herriman was able to finish off the few chances available.
Olympus made Herriman go phase by phase and be patient, while Herriman tackled extremely well and did not allow Olympus to have possession of the ball past midfield the entire half.
Nathan DePew would add a try for Herriman in the second half, and Ammon Sagala brought a physical presence off the bench while both teams continued to play good defense. Lincoln Draper and Emerson Conlon were standouts for Olympus on the day.
Play got a little but sloppy later in the half with a litany of subs from both teams, but overall it was a tough, well-contested game handled smartly by referee Kyle Wilson.
