January started slowly of course but with a few results we restart the D1A rankings.

The only real move is Cal Poly moving up after a close loss to BYU. Now, one could look at BYU's scored with other teams (Colorado State) and their scores vs. the Cougars, and think that, seeing as Cal Poly was way closer, the Mustangs should be moved ahead of the Rams.

Well, sure, maybe. But Colorado State played BYU at the end of fall with BYU at their peak of the fall. Cal Poly played BYU early in the New Year. And we don't have a large number of results for Cal Poly yet. So ... Cal Poly is close behind Colorado State and we'll wait on other results (San Diego State, Santa Clara, UCSC, CWU) to tell us more.

Speaking of Central Washington, they have had the cold winter put the kibosh on some games but they are due to play University of Victoria and then University of British Columbia over the next week so that will be interesting.
