Gamebreakers This Week: Scrumhalves and Try-Scorers
The last two weeks have been pretty busy, and we have a lot of players to recognize all over the nation.
Ian Murra, Cedar Falls
In the Iowa Boys 7s league, Murra leads the entire state with 11 tries in seven matches played.
Casey Graybill, Westfield Rugby
The Westfield scrumhalf (pictured at top) was a sparkplus in his side's win over Noblesville.
Ben Jacquay, Bishop Dwenger
The Dwenger wing scored two tries in an impressive win over Penn HS.
Siale ‘Ofa and Abinadi Bigelow, Brighton
The Brighton HS scrumhalf-flyhalf combination led an impressive win over West Valley in Utah. Bigelow set up his teammates brilliantly and also controlled field position with his book. Ofa, who is the team's captain, scored two tries on the day and his speed to the breakdown and getting the ball moving had the Warriors in trouble all day long.
Blayze Dezelan, Westfield
Another game for Westfield and another nig win. No. 8 Dezelan (pictured above) set the physical tone and Westfield stampeded over Brownsburg.
Declan Quirke, Rye HS
The Rye scrumhalf ran the attack nicely over Fordham Prep and was always a threat to take it up himself.
Brock Christensen, Tempe
The Tempe hooker led the set piece effort and in the breakdown as his side won the Arizona state final over Red Mountain.
Carson Bullinger, Fox Valley
The regular flyhalf for Fox Valley stepped in at scurmhalf and was outstanding as his side beat Taft in Rugby Illinois play.
Cole Younaszi, Denver East
East beat Valor and the Angels' fullback was a threat on the counter and stood out defensively also.
Ty Mead, Avon
Playing prop for Avon was a power in his side's big win over the Louisville Crash.
Brock Kluempers, St. Thomas Aquinas
The excellent Saints flanker set the physical tone as Aquinas beat St. James.
Joey Pope, Glen Ellyn
Pope scored three tries as the Ducks beat Arlington

The St. Ignatius forward pack controlled things in a 43-17 victory over rivals St. Edward, and Reddy, with his power and his work rate, was right in the middle of all of it.
Matt Weiner, Aspetuck
The Connecticut team finished 3rd in the Gonzaga Classic, losing only one game, 17-12 to Gonzaga. Weiner (pictured above), the captain and prop for Aspetuck, often puts the side on his back when the battle rages hardest.
Burke Carroll, Gonzaga
In winning the Gonzaga Classic, the Eagles relied heavily on the leadership and go-forward of their No. 8 and captain Burke Carroll (pictured above).
Devon Saunders, Staples
A solid showing for Staples in the Gonzaga Classic where their only loss was on a penalty kicks tiebreaker was led by Saunders at scrumhalf. A scrappy and tenacious #9, Saunders kept his side working hard as they took the Plate.
Drew Baublitz, Vienna
The Vienna outside center scored three very well-taken tries in his side's league win over Fort Hunt.

Jonty Lee, SD Mustangs
The Mustangs flyhalf pulled the strings superbly in his side's win over the SOC Raptors.
Nic Fanguupo, Kannon Koster, and Ty Byington, Rigby
In the top clash in Idaho Rigby beat Owyhee behind the front row effort of Fanguupo, Koster, and Byington.
Diohnny Ruiz, Berks
Ruiz scored eight tries at the Tropical 7s and three a week later in a win over Doylestown.Derv Taylor, III, Regis Jesuit
Taylor was the player of the game and scored two tries in his side's win over Palmer.
Sean Murphy, BC High
Boston College High defeated Delbarton behind three tries from captain and hooker Sean Murphy.
Dominic Besag, De La Salle
In one of De La Salle's toughest games, the Spartans edged SFGG 21-19, and Besag scored two tries and set up his side's third try.
TJ Pappas, Jesuit Sacramento
The Marauders scored three tries in his side's victory over tourists Xavier HS.
Burin Quin, Cardinal Gibbons
The Gibbons hooker was a strong performer at his position and also kicked all five conversions in his side's state semifinal win over Okapi.
Cody Paholich, Boca Raton
The Boca scrumhalf was a dynamo in his side's state semifinal victory over Key Biscayne.
Nick Farina, Jesuit New Orleans
The center was inventive and powerful for the Blue Jays as they won the Louisiana state final over Brother Martin.
Greyson Yocum, NCOS Falcons
The Falcons flanker played outstanding defense and got plenty of go-forward in his side's victory over Denver East.
Cam Connors, Herriman
Connors scored three tries in Herriman's win over Mountain Ridge
Gene Kendall, West Houston
At center Kendall led the defensive effort as West Houston shut out St. Pius X in Texas.
