Chris Johnson, Fordham

The senior hooker scored two tries and nailed down the set piece as Fordham beat Syracuse.

Miles Powell, Texas

The Longhorn fullback accounted for 19 of his team’s 44 points in a win over North Texas. Powell scored a try, kicked two penalties, and added four conversions.

Christian Olney, Ohio State

The Buckeyes fullback has been really effective this season and he scored two tries as well as nailed down the deep defense in OSU’s win over Wisconsin.

Michael Hand, Baylor

Hand makes a rare repeat appearance in this column but his ability to control the Baylor attack and his goalkicking are hard to ignore. The Bears flyhalf was all over the place (in a good way) in Baylor’s 48-21 defeat of Oklahoma Saturday. With the score tied 7-7 Hand scored three tries in the space of 14 minutes, and converted all to make it 28-7 and put Baylor in control. He ended up with 28 points on four tries and four conversions before making way for a reserve.

Eric Larson and Saikou Barry, Indiana

The second row pairing stepped in and made a huge contribution as a younger Indiana squad defeated Michigan to finish their regular conference schedule undefeated.

Ethan Doumbe, St. Bonaventure

Powerful in the scrum and on defense, Doumbe led from the front and was named player of the game in Bonnies’ first-ever victory over Kutztown.

Mark Kehoe, Michigan State

The MSU fullback scored two tries and played an overall strong game as the Spartans beat Purdue.

Ethan Howard, Davenport

The Davenport No. 8 scored the first try and helped set the physical tone as Davenport shut out Notre Dame.

Chandler Owens, Kansas

Owens is the KU captain and flyhalf and controlled the kicking game in leading his side to wins over Iowa and Minnesota to win the Heart of America. Owens was named player of the tournament.

Tom Goodall, Clemson

The Clemson #10 kicked all three conversions, making the difference in a game against Kentucky where both teams scored three tries, but Clemson won 21-17.

Cam DiGiorgio, Iona

The powerful Gaels No. 8 was active on defense, in set piece, and on attack, and scored the go-ahead try in Iona’s defeat of Northeastern in the Liberty Conference final.

Dan Archer, Brown

The Brown vice captain and tighthead prop led a massive forward effort as Brown defeated Dartmouth to win the Ivy League.

Connor Hohman, St. Joseph's

Carrying a shoulder injury, prop Hohman was nonetheless on the bench for St. Joe's when he was called upon to take the field because another front-rower was undergoing a head-injury assessment. With his team up by only eight, Hohman provided an influx of power and leadership to set up the Hawks for three tries to close out the game.
