Gamebreakers HS Boys
Gamebreakers HS Boys
We had a look at the past week, and a couple of weeks before, and give you our list of players who made an impact for their HS teams in recent days.
Here are this week's Gamebreakers:
Robbie Becker, Carlsbad
The Thunder hooker helped drive the forward effort in Carlsbad's run to 3-0.
Malik Montez-Hendon, View Park Prep
In a 28-24 win over Roosevelet HS on Jan. 8, Montez-Hendon scored the game-winner and kicked all four conversions.
Zach Rohde, University City
Whether playing No. 8 or center, Brody has kept UC moving forward.
Blake Richards-Smith, Torrey Pines
The TP lock (pictured above) continues to make clutch plays. He scored a try and set one up in a 21-7 win over St. Augustine in Southern California.
Ewan Scott, Wilson HS
The Wilson HS flanker has been brilliant on defense.
Ryan James, Cathedral CatholicThe center scored three tries as Cathedral beat Del Norte. |
Griffin Tucker, Phoenix
The flanker scored a try and led from the front in Phoenix's 30-26 win over Columbia Area in the MSIRL.
Griffin Maat, St. ThomasThe Houston-area center scored seven tries during the Rugby Texas Ruggapalooza preseason event and continued to show smart field vision while testing defenses. |
Christian Toetuu, Danville
The Oaks flyhalf was in mid-season form directing the Danville attack in the Storer Classic, where Danville beat United and Irvine Rhinos.
Emari Daniels, View Park Prep
Daniels scored two tries in a 29-26 loss to St. John Bosco
Justin Livaudais, New Orleans Barbarians
The Barbarians prop started his first game against Captain Shreve and was a powerhouse.
Case Ellis, Jesuit New OrleansThe Blues Jays flyhalf directed an effective backline against Captain Shreve, and sliced up the opposition with some smart open-field kicking. |
Skyler Mitchell, Mother Lode
Mother Lode went 3-0 in the Storer Classic, and Mitchell was a superb attacking threat for his team. Among his several tries, Mitchell ran a kickoff back 90 meters for a try. Unfortunately, a late hit after he scored put him out for the next few weeks or so with a concussion.
Andrew Alves, St. AugustineSt. Augustine may have lost to Torrey Pines, but Alves (seen here with his back to the camera, being tackled) was a huge factor at center regardless of the final score. Playing a new position at center, he tested Torrey Pines as a defender and with the ball in hand. |
