Florida Invitational Showcase HS Event Returns for 2022
PONTE VEDRA, Florida – Following this year’s highly-successful Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase, organizers have announced that the Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase is returning to St. John’s County, May 21-22, 2022.
“This tournament is committed to creating opportunities for young people to grow in life and on the rugby field,” said Florida Invitational organizer Mike Wright. “After the first tournament was so successful, we can’t wait to see what we can do in the second year of this event. Not only will this rugby showcase continue to enrich the lives of these young ruggers, but it will generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue for the St. John’s County area and that is a win-win for all involved.”
Hosting 10 high school teams in May 2021, the Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase is looking to double the size of the entries for 2022. With interest from across the nation and pond, this two-day event is open to all high school boys’ and girls’ teams, and not only looks to provide players another opportunity for top-level competition, but also an avenue for collegiate recruitment.
Hosted in part by Florida’s Historic Coast, this one-of-a-kind event for Northeast Florida takes place at Davis Park in Nocatee and provides unlimited exposure to its young competitors with its Facebook live- stream. In 2022, not only will the tournament’s streaming efforts increase, but the collegiate opportunities have surged, with its 501c3 organization including a scholarship to one deserving male and female rugby player competing in the event

Set up as a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2021, the Florida Invitational Rugby Showcase aims to enrich the lives of high school-aged rugby players through a tournament and college showcase by bridging the gap from high school to university rugby. It strides to utilize the finest fields, referees and volunteers, while providing the premier college showcase experience in the Southeast United States.
