Fairfield Hosts Jesuit HS Tourney
Fairfield Hosts Jesuit HS Tourney
Fairfield University is hosting a tournament of Northeast Jesuit HS teams this weekend.
The event itself is spearheaded by Fairfield Prep, which is building back after not playing for two years because of COVID, has already shown some positive steps in terms of rugby competitiveness. Fairfield Prep's longtime Head Coach, Frank Decker, has led the program since 1981 and will be retiring at the end of this season, handing the reins over to Kevin Kery, himself a Fairfield Prep Rugby alumnus.
The tournament, in Connecticut, will host Fordham Prep out of New York City, and two Western NY schools in McQuaid Jesuit and Canisius. Each team will play the other in shortened games on Saturday and then there will be a final and a 3rd-4th game on Sunday.
