Being the only non-Canadian team invited to the Vancouver Sevens Invitational, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy has honored that invitation by making the final of the tournament.
The U18 Boys EIRA side finished 2nd in their pool, beating BC Blue and Alberta Development, but tying Ontario Blue. The Ontario side took 1st in Pool A thanks to points difference.
In the other pool, Ontario White won with BC Gold taking 2nd.
Game #1: EIRA 39 Alberta Dev 5
Kingston Hawkins (Cathedral Catholic/SD Mustangs) scored two tries while Keane Horne (Trumbull HS), Xander Hunter (Winslow RUFC, England), Masiu Aholelei (Tempe), and Marek Wright (Liberty Patriots) all scored one. Wright added two conversions.
Game #2: EIRA 45 BC Blue 5
Hawkins and Hunter each scored two tries, and Hawkins added five conversions for a personal tally of 20. Aholelei, Horne, and Bo Morrison (Misoula Stampede) all touched down once.
Game #3 EIRA 17 Ontario Blue 17
Horne, Aholelei, and Caden Reinebach (Camas) all scored tries, with Hawkins getting the crucial conversion to keep the tie.
