EIRA Tour of Spain: Tourists Drop Game 1
The Spain national U18 team defeated Eagle Impact Rugby Academy 36-3 Wednesday afternoon in Valladolid, Spain.
This was an improved scoreline from the two games EIRA played against Spain in 2021, and overall the American boys competed well.
After 15 minutes the game was deadlocked at 3-3. However, as time went on the unity of the Spanish team shone. Five of the six Spanish tries came directly from EIRA errors.
Head Coach Salty Thompson said that it's possible the players made some of those errors doing things they can get away with at home, but not against an international side that's been training together for a while.

"Lots to work but, but we're happy we're here," said Thompson.
Meanwhile, hooker Sam McMillan said that Spain's ability to play fast was something the EIRA players have to deal wi9th.
Saturday, in Game 2, said McMillan, "we've got to be ready to go."
