Dwenger Bounces Back to Defeat Detroit CC
Bishop Dwenger met up with Detroit Central Catholic Saturday at Adrian College and came away ith a well-taken 38-12 win.
Ashton Skarie led a determined forward effort and played a gritty game that meant more than just the three tries he scored. Flyhalf Adam Schenkel converted four of the six Dwenger tries and added a try himself for a personal haul of 13 points. Ben Jacquay and Max Brinker also touched down for the Indiana side.
"We were happy to hit the road and play away just a weekend a rough loss to St. Ignatius," said Dwenger Head Coach Sam DiFilippo. "Our coaching staff turned the last week into a defensive skills camp and did a great job getting our guys prepared. Our defense in the first half played with great integrity and a lot of fire."
Dwenger will once again look out-of-state for competition next week as they take on Illinois-based Brother Rice at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Ind.
