Donor Backs USA Rugby Membership Drive
Donor Backs USA Rugby Membership Drive
USA Rugby is launching a membership drive.
Just as USA Rugby CEO Ross Young told Goff Rugby Report that the organization is behind is membership goals—not surprising given there hasn't been much rugby to be played—the National Governing Body is announcing a plan in which an anonymous donor will give USA Rugby $5 for every 2020-2021 membership signup through the end of the year (capped at 500 new members).
USA Rugby Provides New Dues Breakdown
Members are encouraged to simply renew their training or full membership for the 2020-21 season, by December 31, where $5 will be matched as a philanthropic donation. (It is important to note that this does not increase dues owed by the member, nor are any of those dues affected. The additional funds are a separate contribution provided by a proud donor.)
Ross Young Outlines The Membership Picture
“While they respectively prefer to remain anonymous, I whole-heartedly want to thank our generous donor for the unique contribution,” said USA Rugby Chief Development Officer, Chris Reed, “It’s been a challenging year for the USA National Teams and operations, where support like this endorses the organization to build towards an encouraging 2021.”
USA Rugby Member Registration is open for the 2020-21 Season, with both Training and Full Membership options available in light of limited rugby activities during COVID-19. USA Rugby also continues to work on updated Return To Play guidelines and recommendations for the rugby community as the COVID-19 pandemic changes and spring approaches. With National Team and community programs assembling under diverse protocols this past Fall, USA Rugby is collaborating to organize and share best practices on a community level for clubs looking to arrange a return to some form of rugby in 2021.
