DIAA Games This Weekend: Early Statement Time

The Florida DIAA conference has the potential to go down to the final weekend, it is that close.

But there are opportunities for one team or another to break away from the pack. This weekend Florida State at Central Florida might be one of those opportunities. FSU is already 2-0 and could be in very good shape. Lose, and Central Florida tightens the pack.

There's a similar game in the Pacific Western with Fresno State facing Chico State. The winner of this game might well be considered the favorite to win the conference. Meanwhile, there are rankings considerations here. Sacramento State didn't quite jump into the Top 40 because the Hornets won only by three over Nevada. But if Sac State looks good again this week, and Nevada looks good against UCSC, then Sac State could move in.

Oregon vs Oregon State is a classic rivalry match and one with plenty of rankings ramifications.
