Several men’s DI college teams saw action this weekend in preseason warmups.
Arizona defeated Grand Canyon University 59-3 in an impressive first run-out for the Wildcats. Meanwhile, St. Mary’s was humbled in a 44-3 loss to the SFGG men’s club, a game that was a good education for the Gaels.
Santa Clara beat Stanford 42-29, and Sacramento State held off a determined UC Santa Barbara team 21-18 in a game that UCSB felt they could have won.
Sac State also was supposed to play Cal Poly, but rain meant the Mustangs couldn’t use their fields and the two-game Sac State tour became a one-game trip.
