The NCR CRC 7s will fill up this weekend as the organization has their big Selection Saturday.

That's on their college rugby show, which should be broadcast here>>

Premier Bracket

The tournaments this spring have lined up several automatic qualifiers, but in the end there are teams looking for at-large bids to fill it out. Nine teams have automatically qualified for the Men's Premier (Utah State, Southern Virginia, Wisconsin, Walsh, Wheeling, Kutztown, Indiana, St. Bonaventure, and Notre Dame).

Fairfield hosts their tournament and Boise State hosts the Fools Gold 7s. But that's only going to get us to 11. The entire bracket (which, remember, is a single-elimination bracket) will feature 32 teams. So that's a lot of choices to make, with those teams that finished 2nd or 3rd in various tournaments getting those spots.

This Sunday we've got the Ivy League 7s at Harvard and that could answer some of those questions, too.

D1AA

Seven teams—Iowa, Louisville, Northeastern, Babson, Kentucky, Sam Houston State, and NC State—have qualified. Nine more spots remain to be filled.

The Minutemen 7s at UMass, Amherst will provide an eighth team, but the selection process has to find another eight.

D2 and D3

Northern Iowa, Georgetown, Albany, Memphis, UNC-Wilmington, Miami of Ohio, GVSU, and Montana State provide a pretty impressive list for the men's D2 bracket.

A very deep MARC 7s will provide another team to this list, and probably more, but, once again, NCR will have to scour through the rest of the tournaments to fill it out.

Nine teams have qualified for D3—St. Thomas (MN), Loyola Md., Endicott, Springfield, New Mexico Tech, Duke, Sippery Rock, Denver, Richmond.

All of these teams have had pretty solid to excellent 15s season. Seven more spots remain.

We are now just a week away from the CRC in Maryland, and for the most part the teams slated to attend know they're attending. NCR will announce them on Saturday and fill out the brackets.

But about half, or maybe more, of the teams will be in as wild card selections, meaning that a body of work through the spring can be hugely valuable.
