We are pretty well set in our rankings now until the national playoffs happen.
We could still see Florida State upset MAU, and shift things there, but right now it looks as though MAU and ARC will win their conferences.
At the 16-20 level we do have some changes ... changes that are probably overdue. Claremont Colleges comes in and that seems to be the right move.
We often get requests to combine the rankings in D1AA ... get the fall and the spring teams mixed up. We used to like that idea but it's difficult because it is very hard to just watch a team and say "oh yeah, they're not as good as this other team ..."
We kind of felt that way about San Diego a couple of years back, but they were also facing a Kentucky team (virtually) that was also really strong.
Right now, all that mixing would do is tell a team that ended a season #1 that, no, actually, all that celebration wasn't correct. Maybe we're getting soft.
Whatever ... what we would like to say is that from #1-#20 in this spring group, they would do very well against the #1-#20 in the fall. Maybe if we had #1-vs-#1 all the way down the line (skipping over the teams that are ranked in both time periods) the likelihood is that the records would be close to 10-10.
