Navy has closed their fist around the #1 ranking for the time being, but there is movement in the rankings.

Ohio State, once more, moves up. This time thanks to a loss. The Buckeyes lost 44-42 to Arkansas State and that result pulled ASU down a bit and moved OSU up a bit. The big question is, what do we do about Ohio State's loss to Penn State?

That opening-week loss by 14-7 is what has kept OSU ranked below the Nittany Lions. But is it time to throw that out? It's hard to know for sure. Since that loss in September Ohio State has gone 4-2, losing to Lindenwood and Arkansas State. They have averaged 38 points per game, and topped 40 each of the last three.

They have beaten Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, and Notre Dame.

Penn State has 3-3, beating NYAC, Southern Virginia, and Mount St. Mary's, but losing to Navy, Life, and Army. So at the top end Penn State's schedule has been stronger, for sure. Overall, though, they are both schedules of a similar challenge.

Penn State has scored 23 points per game.

There's not much in it, but we feel like that game almost two months ago isn't strong strong enough to halt a reward we'd give any other team—you get within two points of beating Arkansas State, you usually move up.

Welcome UC Santa Cruz to the Top 25. San Diego, which hasn't been playing so much, drops out, but should be back.

Air Force moves up five spots after a very good win over Colorado.
