A few teams took a break over the long weekend, but we did see Arizona take on Colorado, which was informative.

BYU looked solid, but not infallible, against Utah State.

Mary Washington got by Penn State despite some unavailabilities and that's a good showing for UMW. We are starting to see things settle down a bit in the Rocky Mountain, and Colorado State's impressive win over Wyoming did much for that.

In November, both CSU and Colorado travel to Arizona to play GCU in a return trip for hosting the 'Lopes a year ago. Good for them. Too often teams readily agree to a home-and-home and conveniently forget about the second thing.

We move Ohio State up a bit because they showed some spark against Life, and pushed the Running Eagles somewhat. It's still a bit of a build for the Buckeyes.

This coming week is pretty big for fall rankings.

Utah gets to show how far they might have come with their annual rivalry game with BYU. It would be nice if that rivalry got a little closer.

Another rivalry that is usually quite tight is Colorado and Colorado State. They play this week also, as do Utah State. Big weekend in the Ricky Mountain.

Further east, the Rugby East has three excellent games, with Navy at Penn State, Life at UMW, and the biggest one, we think, in terms of the rankings in Army at Mount St. Mary's.

The Midwest takes a bit of a break, while the West Coast 7s wraps up on the Pacific (and, remember, 7s doesn't factor into these rankings).
