Lindenwood's razor-thin win over Life is enough to put the Lions ahead of the Running Eagles, but, of course, it's close.
But it's worth remembering that the Lindenwood victory was on the road, which carries a bit more weight. Lindenwood might have bumped up to #3 or #2, but Saint Mary's did very well in winning over Cal Poly, so they hold onto #3.
Actually, it doesn't matter a ton in regards to playoff seedings, because Lindenwood would be the #2 team out of the East anyway if this ranking directed the seedings (which it doesn't).
The other big move is in the 20s. Santa Clara's big win over UCSC prompted us to move the Broncos into the Top 25. However, strength of schedule matters, and, it seems, that maybe the South part of the California Conference is a shade tougher than the North.
So when San Diego State played Santa Clara and won 62-10 (!), that kind of emphasized that point. If you compare the results of those two teams, Santa Clara had slightly better showings against Cal Poly and UC Davis. But if you look at the other games, SDSU played both U. San Diego and UCLA, as well as UC Santa Barbara.
