College Game of the Week Highlights The Rugby Network Weekend
The Rugby Network will showcase Central Washington at Arizona as their collegiate Game of the Week.
The game will kick off at 1PM PT, 4PM ET, and will feature an all-Wildcats clash. This is a huge D1A meeting for both teams, as Arizona is looking to bolster its case for a high ranking and a good playoff seed. Central Washington, meanwhile, has an even greater need to show well as they have no conference games to play—every game they play has an equal influence on where they stand.
CWU has defeated the top two collegiate teams from Canada—University if Victoria and University of British Columbia. Arizona played a series of preseason games, often running out younger players, during the fall. Since January 1 they have beaten D1AA teams University of Washington and, last week, University of San Diego. And they also lost 48-15 to Arizona.
Speaking of Canada, TRN also has UBC vs Westshore in Canadian collegiate action. Kickoff Saturday, Feb. 10 at 5:30PM ET>>
In professional rugby, TRN has two games on the slate with AJ MacGinty and Bristol Bears playing the mighty Crusaders of Super Rugby. The 12-time Super Rugby champions are on a Northern Hemisphere preseason tour, and are coming off a 21-19 defeat of Munster last week.
Kickoff Friday, Feb 9 at 2PM ET>>
Saracens takes on Harlequins in the Women’s Premiership. Led by Canadian captain and star Sophie de Goede, Saracens leads the league with an 8-1 record, while Harlequins sits at 3-6, coming off a 43-12 defeat of Sale.
