James Madison and Mount Saint Mary's both recorded key wins in the chase for the Chesapeake Conference title.

MSM were expected to beat Salisbury, and did so in emphatic style, 65-3. JMU faced off against Mary Washington in a game that could have gone either way, at least on paper. But JMU won decisively 44-14 with two tries from Christian Morreale, and also tries from Michael Barry, Ryan Maguire, Mo Katz, Chris Marcelin, Matthew Petrik, and Travis Weeks.

The results mean that JMU and MSM are the two teams in the best position to win the conference. However, Virginia Tech, which thumped Georgetown 79-12 Saturday, is right there, too. Tech has three games left, while the other two teams have two each. And crucially, Virginia Tech has James Madison and Mary Washington left to play. With Mount Saint Mary's favored in their two remaining games, the Hokies v JMU clash November 5 takes on added meaning.

And Maryland lost another close one, 27-26 to Virginia. It's been a weird season for Maryland. They have lost five games, four of them within a try.
