Top-ranked HS Club Charlote Cardinals defeated Gonzaga College HS Saturday 43-29.
The Cardinals took an early lead on a couple of scores Gonzaga would probably want back and expanded that into a 35-8 advantage at one points.
"All credit to Peter and his team for giving us 70 minutes of great rugby," said Cardinals Head Coach Jason Zehmke.
"We are very happy with our performance," said the aforementioned Peter, Gonzaga Head Coach Peter Baggetta, and it's fair to say that Gonzaga is still playing a little game-time catchup with the Cardinals. "We gave up two soft tries in the first five minutes to go down 14-0 but then settled into the game. It was probably our best overall performance in the last two years."
