The Boys High School Rugby National Championships will be held on May 18-20, 2017 in Kansas City, Mo. and will attract the top high school teams and clubs in the nation to the premier high school-aged tournament in America.

The Boys High School Rugby National Championship tournament will include separate competitions for boys’ single high school teams and multiple high school club teams.  The competition will consist of three 60-minute matches over the course of three days – beginning on Thursday afternoon, May 18th and concluding on Saturday, May 20th.

All matches will be played in the Swope Park Soccer Village, the training grounds for the MISL team Sporting KC which features six full-sized synthetic fields and a three natural grass fields. The Boys High School Rugby National Championships will use the all-weather turf fields, which will be and set up and lined specifically for rugby, and will include plenty of warm up space. http://www.sportingkc.com/swope-soccer-village

Teams interested in competing in the tournament are invited to submit an application to the tournament committee.  The application is available now and must be completed through the following link:  https://bhsnic.wufoo.com/forms/boys-hs-rugby-national-championship-2017

The deadline for applications is February 15.

After a thorough selection process based on teams’ applications, the twelve most qualified teams (in each of the two separate competitions: single-school and high school club) will be sent invitations by March 1. In early May, the 24 teams will be seeded based on each team’s performance throughout the spring 2016 season.  The eight top-seeded teams in each category will play in two separate competitions for the Single High School and High School Club Championships.  The four lowest seeded teams in each category will play in a single Tier II competition – as such, the Tier II competition will include both single school team and club teams that draw players from multiple schools.

Please note that the Boys High School Rugby National Championships is not planned, organized, or run by USA Rugby, and USA Rugby no longer names an official National High School Champion.
