Boys HS Games This Weekend

It's a busy and exciting weekend in Boys HS rugby, with some well-known teams getting active and more leagues boasting key games. Here's a look:

Highlights games include SS#1 Gonzaga opening their season against West End in a non-conference run-out.  

In North Carolina, all eyes are on how South Greenville and Wando will keep up the momentum. Both have started strong, both boast outstanding defenses. Both are favored in games against Aiken and Irmo, respectively.

In Arizona, we profiled the Blackbirds recently, and they will take on Tempe in a clash that should show us how well the Tucson club has progressed. 

In North Carolina, Charlotte Catholic has started 2-0 in league games, having to work hard to push aside South Meck last week - hooker Matthew Notarangelo and center Mike Scotland got them going. They face a young Ardrey Kell this weekend  

Unbeaten Providence and Northwest Guildford Vikings look to keep pace.

In Texas, it'll be the first run-out for Lake Travis, as they take on Plano. That's a big one.

And also on Saturday, the Deep South may well find a new 1st-place team as the Bayou Hurricanes play St. Paul's in a game of the two unbeaten teams. Shaw starts its season, also, and watch out for them. In Northern California, it's an early big one with Granite Bay against Jesuit in a clash of two teams with designs on 1st in the new Varsity Premier.
