The 2024 Bermuda International 7s for college teams is set for March 15-16 and looks to build on a really successful 2023.
After three years not being held due to COVID restrictions, the Bermuda International 7s returned last year with its best ever event, with Kutztown winning the men's bracket over Brown, and Colgate taking the women's bracket over Bermuda.
Held every year (aside from COVID) since 2016, the tournament is hosted by the Bermuda Rugby Union (BRU) and will feature brackets for collegiate women, collegiate men, and high school boys. Matches are held each year at the National Sports Centre, Bermuda’s premier sporting venue. Participating teams receive busing from the airport to the Warwick Camp, where they will stay. Warwick Camp is located across the street from the beach and is less than a five-minute walk to the training ground.
Organization superbly by URugby and hosted superbly by the BRU, the tournament has a cost of $350 per person, which includes eight meals Thursday night through Sunday morning served right at the camp with box meals on game-day. Teams or platers can add extra days for $150 (getting three meals each day)—sometimes people take that option because there are cheaper flights with a slightly different schedule, so the BRU accommodates that.
The BRU also provides transport to and from the National Stadium both Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Pool matches are Friday under the lights, with the finals Saturday afternoon.
Everyone plays through to placement games. The buses will return teams to the airport on their last day.
