Texas A&M defeated TCU 29-13 Saturday in a very scrappy and somewhat uneven Red River Conference game.

The victory put A&M at 3-1 and almost guarantees the Aggies will finish 2nd in the conference behind Oklahoma, who finished their conference play in the fall and went 5-0.

TCU, despite going to 0-3, battled hard and were in the game until late. A&M scored two early tries thanks to long periods on the TCU line probing for a gap. But the Horned Frogs, who had kicked an early penalty, came back with a try through the forwards that made it 12-10. A&M scored their prettiest try of the first half when they almost lost a lineout, but then TCU failed to secure the throw, either. The Aggies sent the ball through the hands and good support play led to a pick-and-go try in the corner. TCU added a penalty for a 17-13 halftime lead.

A&M secured their defense a little better but weren't quite firing offensively. Ten minutes into the second half they got a try after a quick tap and a surge ahead. TCU got the ball back but a mistake on their line gave the ball back to A&M, and they scored. Five minutes later they scored again off broken play, and that was it.

The game was recorded and can be seen below the standings (if you don't see it, reload the page).

A&M finishes their Red River season against Baylor and will want a little tidier performance in that game.
