NCR’s men’s collegiate all-star tournament kicks off Saturday with eight teams in competition in the Austin, Texas area.
The Northeast Independents are looking to make it a three-peat as they once again enter more than one team. The college rugby-dense region has a lot of depth and has come out on both in 2022 and 2023 (although they were called New England in the first year).
Independents Red are in Pool A with Great Lakes Thunderbirds, Mid-Atlantic Sharks, and Midwest Barbarians.
Meanwhile Independents White is in Pool B with Pacific Coast Grizzlies, Southeast Bears, and Tri-State Foundry.
All teams play shortened (40-minute) games on Day One, running out for three pool games each. As a result, their depth and their ability to handle combinations that are made on the fly will be crucial.
(We're listing the rosters we have. If any names are misspelled please keep in mind we're working off coach-provided lists. If there's an error do let us know and we'll fix it)
