2016 A Look Back - January
January, 2016 started with the news that the USA Men’s National Team had a new coach - John Mitchell.
The search had taken some time following the 2015 Rugby World Cup. For a while, previous Head Coach Mike Tolkin was in a sort of limbo waiting for decisions to be made. Meanwhile, a search was on and Mitchell, who ran the All Blacks in the early 2000s, came on board.
PRO Update - Publicity Born out of Talks
The ongoing discussions between USA Rugby and PRO Rugby USA is about PRO wanting to extend the league's sanctioning agreement past the current three-year deal.
US Rugby Players Association Reaches Out to PRO Players
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The newly-formed United States Rugby Players Associations (USRPA) has announced that it will extend membership to the PRO Rugby players, effective immediately.
In a December 22 announcement, the USRPA said it "pledges its support to help PRO Rugby players through this critical period."

More Bad News for PRO Rugby
PRO Rugby chief evecutive Doug Schoninger issued a statement to players today, Dec 20 that casts serious doubt on whether the one-season-old league can survive a second year.
