Marin, SFGG Take Big Victories in NorCal
Two results out of Northern California HS Rugby turned heads this weekend.
Marin, on a roll and having already logged a couple of notable wins, got by Danville 25-15.
Marin received four yellow cards in the first half but still pulled out yet another difficult win on the road. At one point Marin was down to 12 players on the field.
Reports and Thoughts from SLUH Tournament Day One
On Day One of the SLUH All-Catholic tournament, we saw some drama.
Two games were very, very close, as St. Thomas Aquinas edged Notre Dame de la Salette 7-0 in a game where both teams had chances.
Later on, St. Xavier needed all they had to beat SLUH 12-11.
Meanwhile, Marquette looked very impressive in their opening game of the season, beating Father Ryan.
Old Rivals Gonzaga and St. Ignatius Meet in Cleveland
St. Ignatius of Cleveland hosts Gonzaga of Washington DC Saturday in Ohio and this is one of the better rivalries in IS rugby.
For years Ignatius passed up chances to go to HS Nationals and instead one of their benchmarks for a great season was beating Gonzaga—this is something they did frequently enough for Gonzaga to circle this game every year.
