Women DII College Top 20 - Dec. 1, 2014
The big thing that occurred since our last Women DII College Top 20 was the fall championship playoffs. These cross-conference games lent some perspective to the relative strength of regions, and also made room for West Coast teams that have taken down DI sides during tournament season.
NSCRO Semifinals Unsure What to ExpectThe National Small College Rugby Organization women’s final four is set to kick off Saturday in Cherry Hill, NJ with four teams that really aren’t sure how to feel about each other. As often happens at this level, teams operate somewhat in a vacuum. Roger Williams were virtually untouched in their demolition of teams in New England.
NSCRO Women Final Four This Weekend
The top 4 NSCRO women's small colleges in the country are primed and ready for a weekend of hitting and rucking at the 2014 NSCRO National Rugby Championship in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Central Best in PMC North
Well that settles that. If there was any question as to whether Central Washington is the strongest DI women’s college in the Pacific Northwest, then it was answered last weekend. Washington State, the reigning Pacific Mountain North champion, traveled to Ellensburg for the teams’ first official meeting and returned to Pullman with a 41-5 loss.
Kutztown, DII's Heart-Breaker
One thing was certain as Kutztown and Vassar lined up for their quarterfinal on Sunday: One of last year’s Final Four teams wasn’t returning to Florida this December. And through 80 minutes of play, it appeared that Kutztown was the team to be left behind, as Vassar established and retained a lead throughout the game.
