The Midwest U23 Women Thunderbirds defeated the Prairie team of Canada's National Women's League 43-24 Saturday as part of the Thunderbirds' tour to Canada.
The teams were very close for much of the game before a speedy and athletic Thunderbirds squad put the game away with three tries in 11 minutes.
The two teams have a rematch Sunday morning, while the Midwest U20s, which swept Manitoba U18s and Saskatchewan U18s on Saturday, will play those teams again.
