Vermont has clinched the New England Conference championship and await the winners of the Upstate NY playoffs, which will be decided this coming weekend. The four teams remaining are: Cortland, Oswego, Buffalo State, and Niagara.

According to seeding, this should be a game played at UNI. However, Stout, should they win, will end up having to play five games in 15 days, and so UNI agreed to travel to Stout to ease the burden.
