Davenport, Lindenwood Play Match for Fallen Player
Davenport defeated Lindenwood 7-3 Saturday in a non-conference game that finished off a difficult fall for Lindenwood.
Last weekend, Lindenwood rugby player Charles Labry was struck and killed by a car. The native of Beaune, France was a popular member of the team and the game this Saturday was played in his honor.
"Charles was an exceptional student-athlete with a love an enthusiasm for life second to none," said Lindenwood Director of Rugby JD Stephenson. "His passion for his girlfriend, friends and family was truly amazing and he will be forever be in our hearts and minds moving forward. We will all miss Charles and must remember to always celebrate his life through our fond memories and experiences with him."
The game was for the Charles Labry Memorial Shield, which will become an annual event.
