Surprised? The top single-school team got there in a different way than most of the teams in this list.

For most, their schedule strength was bolstered by being in a really tough league. But while Gonzaga had their challengers - Georgetown Prep being the main rival - their regular league wasn't a weekly problem. But instead of just sitting back and saying "we're the best and we'll roll through our league" they went on to play difficult competition all over the country.

So everyone from Royal Irish to Fort Hunt to St. Ignatius and St. Edward, to the defending Spanish national U18 champions to Mira Costa, Xavier, and Jesuit, Gonzaga's schedule is a Who's Who of the toughest high school teams in the nation.

Gonzaga tied Penn for the most Top-10 opponents with ten. Penn and Gonzaga were basically equal in the number of other ranked teams. But what put Gonzaga over the edge was their tour to Spain, where they played a series of difficult opponents.

And, by the way, while they did lose a close one to St. Edward, they won every other game.
