GRR: Bixby
Bixby of Oklahoma won the Mid-South tournament hosted at Southern Nazarene University over the weekend.
It was a tournament of teams from Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Missouri. For Bixby, this was an excellent chance to give many players varsity experience.
Despite a wet field and a one-hour thunderstorm delay, Bixby managed to defeat F5 to win the Oklahoma state championship over the weekend.
"We knew it was going to be all about field position," said Head Coach Chris Smith.
The Lindenwood Tournament in St. Charles, Mo. provided an excellent buildup weekend for teams in the middle of the country.

Bixby defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 24-5 this past weekend in what is a warmup game for both teams.
Oklahoma-based Bixby HS opened their season with a convincing 67-0 victory over Liberty out of Kansas.
"I was very happy with the performance, especially it being our first match," said Bixby Head Coach Chris Smith.
It was windy and the like a lot of teams this time of year these two teams are waiting for some players to join thanks to injuries or other sports commitments.
