USA Makes Vegas Semis
USA Rugby Report - A 20-0 shutout against Canada Saturday in the USA Sevens Cup Quarterfinal sends the Men’s Eagles Sevens to their fourth-ever Cup Semifinal on the World Rugby HSBC Sevens World Series circuit.
Three first-half tries gave the home crowd of 34,593 at Sam Boyd Stadium reason to cheer, while Canada barely touched the ball in the first half.
Test's 50th, USA's Close Call
The USA did not win their pool in the USA 7s as they tied South Africa 19-19.
The Eagles had the ball and a chance to win it at the end, but turned the ball over. Then at risk of losing the game, they defended well enough to finish out the game.
South Africa and the USA both finished 2-0-1, but South Africa had a better points difference.
USA into Cup QFs, But Portugal Exposes Issues
The USA men’s 7s team is in the Cup Quarterfinals after crushing Japan and staying alive against Portugal.
The Eagles did what was expected, beating two of the less strong teams on the Sevens World Series circuit, and against Japan they looked just like a top team taking apart a team they should take apart.
Siddall Sitting Out 2015
USA national team flyhalf Adam Siddall has taken himself out of the game of rugby for the remainder of 2015.
Siddall has been battling a series of concussions suffered while playing, with the last one being in the USA's game against Romania. While in New Zealand to visit his family, he consulted with doctors, and decided he needed to sit out 2015.
