The Big Ten Universities Rugby Conference has finalized its 2024 Fall Schedule.

This year will see the return of divisional play with teams splitting into East and West. Michigan State University, Ohio State University, University of Michigan, and University of Notre Dame will compete in the East Division, while Indiana University, Purdue University, University of Illinois, and University of Wisconsin will comprise the West.

Conference play will begin on September 21 with Michigan at Notre Dame, Ohio State at Michigan State, Indiana at Illinois and Purdue at Wisconsin.

Big Ten University All-Conference Picks

The 2024 season will culminate with the annual Big Ten Universities Rugby Championships Series, which will feature Cup and Bowl Championships.

Beginning November 2, the top two teams from each division will compete in the Major Championship; with the East #1 seed hosting the West #2 and the West #1 hosting the East #2. The remaining teams will compete for the Bowl Championship, which sees the East #3 seed hosting the West #4 and the West #3 will host the East #4. The winners from each semifinal will meet for the Big Ten Championships during the weekend of November 9.

As they prepare for conference play and the Conference Championships, those Big Ten Clubs will compete against other difficult competition in D1A, NCR D1, and D1AA. That's a big part of why teams are happy with a short (three games) regular conference season. All teams also get two postseason games so the entire Big 10 season is five games per team, but the schedule opens up September and even August for non-conference games and most take advantage.

There are also some games between Big 10 teams that do not count toward the standings (for example, Wisconsin at Michigan, MSU at Illinois, Indiana at Ohio State)
