Western Washington moved to 3-0 in the NCRC with a 39-0 shutout of previously unbeaten Oregon.

Shutouts and road wins are rarities in this conference, and WWU logged both on this trip to Eugene, backing it up with a 2nd side win 46-7.

The Vikings performance brightened the gray sky in Eugene as they got off to a good start against the Ducks. Playing with attitude and confidence it was obvious to all that they were there to make a statement. It did not take long before WWU jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the two minute mark on a penalty goal by Noah Hanks. Freshman Rees Alferd, making his debut on the 1st XV, scored the first of five tries on the day for the Vikings. It was obvious WWU had now established early control and took full advantage of the possession as they took a 25-0 lead into halftime.

Dangerous when going wide, overpowering in the set scrum, dominating in the lineouts, and ferociously competitive at the breakdown, Western put in their best performance of the year so far.

Rounding out the scoring for Western was Oliver Dougherty with two tries on the wing. Louie Henson, and Tripp Morotto also touched down across the Duck goal line. Noah Hanks finished with 14 points coming off two penalty goals and four conversions.

Also in the Northwest Collegiate Rugby Conference, Western Oregon beat Oregon State 17-14. With those results in, the standings look like this:
