The pools and schedule have been released for the London 7s (Friday-Saturday, May 15-16), the fifth stop on the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series. The USA enter the competition tied for 5^th in the standings, but only 12 points separate #2 Canada and #7 Russia, and there are two more tournaments to play.

The Eagles are in pool C with Australia, Fiji, and China. Friday begins with China at 8:06 a.m. ET., followed by Fiji at 10:50 a.m. ET. The USA has played both of these teams just once during the ’14-’15 series. In Dubai, the first stop on the circuit, Fiji beat the USA 24-21, while the Americans shut out China 61-0.

The third pool play game occurs at 1:34 p.m. ET against Australia, and that will be the one to watch. The Americans are 2-0 against the Aussies this season – winning 10-5 in Atlanta and posting a big 29-10 victory at the Canada 7s. The knockout rounds begin at 5:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, and the Cup final and 3^rd place matches will be played inside Twickenham Stadium. The rest of the competition occurs at Twickenham Stoop.

The Amsterdam 7s, the final leg, follows on May 22-23, and once those standings points have been awarded, the series’ top four team will earn automatic berths to the 2016 Summer Olympics. New Zealand and its 80 points has been perfect thus far, and if the Kiwis make it to the Cup semifinals in London, then they’ll secure a top-four finish for the season (see standings below). Canada, Australia, France, USA, England, and Russia are within striking distance of one another, making the final two legs particularly exciting.
