Wild Week #1 In MLR Sets Up Vegas Weekend
The MLR Weekend in Las Vegas is set with a little to work on for the teams involved after Week 1.
The New England Free Jacks started their first MLR season in Vegas against RUNY and came away with an impressive 34-14 result.
That game was played at Sam Boyd Stadium, where four MLR games will be held this weekend, and the game included this weird try.
What. A. Try.

Without a doubt the craziest try of week one, and possibly the most unique of the entire season, came from #NEvNY.

A warning, then, for teams to respect the turf.

Also this past weekend, the Houston Saber Cats beat the renamed Colorado Raptors 21-12. NOLA Gold humbled new team DC Old Glory 46-13, while new team Rugby Atlanta won 28-19 over the Utah Warriors.
Two-time defending champs the Seattle Seawolves lost 33-24 to the San Diego Legion, and the newly-renamed Austin Gilgronis lost at their new venue 38-10 to the Toronto Arrows.
So lots of changes, and a few teams who struggled last year looking a little better. Expansion teams were 2-1 on the weekend.

So next up it's eight teams in Las Vegas:
On Feb 15, the Free Jacks look to make it two in a row as they take on a Utah Warriors side with a new high-profile coach (Chris Latham) and a little more to prove.
And two teams unhappy with their start, RUNY and Austin, will face off as well.
On Feb 16 it's the high-flying Arrows, who actually produced a strong forward effort, so maybe they're hte sledgehammers, against a Houston Saber Cats that started very nicely.
San Diego looked perhaps the most polished offensively, and with Nate Augspurger strong at scrumhalf and Ma'a Nonu bringing his star power (and physical power) at center, the Legion will be looking for win #2 against the Raptors.
