In a weird weekend in the Northwest Collegiate Conference, Oregon outlasted Boise States and Gonzaga held off Western Oregon.

The Oregon-v-Boise State game was a wild one, with Oregon running out to a 19-5 lead, only to see BSU come back to tie the game at 19-19. The teams traded tries, and then with almost no time on the clock, Eric Fallon slotted a tough penalty kick to put Boise State ahead 27-24. There was time for one more play, and, amazingly, it was enough for the Ducks. Boise State could not retain the kickoff, Oregon worked the phases, and then broke down the left side to score the game-winner, 29-27.

It was a tough loss for Boise State, which had clawed its way back, but a good road win for Oregon, which came into the game at 1-2.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga backed up their improbably win over WWU last week with a 26-15 over Western Oregon. Jacob Bills, Bradley Rustik, and Daniel Hodge all scored tries while Darragh Ruane added a conversion and three penalties.

On Sunday, Eastern Washington defeated a tired WOU squad 41-12.
