Leading the way in Ohio, St. Ignatius and Westshore logged key wins over the weekend.

Westshore appears to be the top club in the state right now. After beating the Watkins Warriors 26-22 on April 12, they followed that up with a battle against Medina.

Once again, Westshore emerged victorious in a close one, winning 31-24. Pablo Secin is the Westshore captain and lock and he has been a powerhouse for Westshore.

"He is a realy workhorse and an overall leader for the club," said Westshore Coach Dave Lyons. "The Medina club is a real rival for us and the players played hard but a clean game. Both sides put in a great show."

Isaac orris, Ryan Flanagan, Brad Holub, Eddie Martin, and Secin all scored tries for the Lions.

Meanwhile, in the Varsity league, St. Ignatius beat Archbishop Moeller 66-5. Using Grayson Halkiadakis to drawn in defenders and with Harrison White running the attack smartly at scrumhalf, Ignatius played quickly and with skill.

Ignatius is just back from their tour of France where their most meaningful game was almost certainly a blowout loss. They lost 85-14 to the Bordeaux-Begles U18 Academy, which is the top professional aspirant side for the defending European Champions.

This game was more competitive than the score might indicate, and it certainly taught the Ignatius players plenty. They came out of it determined to up their game, and they did, beating Moeller by a significant margin.
