Western Washington Gets Tests v Canadians
While the Western Washington University men’s 7s team has been playing in tournaments though the fall, including winning the Bowl at the NCRC 7s Championships, the WWU 15s team has been playing some strong Canadian opposition. On a trip to British Columbia the Vikings defeated Vancouver Island University 39-29, played a 7s game against University of Victoria, and then played the UVic U20s, losing a tough one 29-23.
A week ago they ghosts the University of British Columbia U20s, and lost another close contest 26-23.
This past weekend, WWU took two sides to Kelowna, BC to take on UBC Okanogan. The hosts won both matches.
Now it’s a return engagement with VIU this weekend.
“We are taking full advantage of living in close proximity to the Canadian border,” said WWU Director of Paul Horne. “We are young, excited and looking forward to the NCRC season.”
WWU is looking to win the team’s 3rd NCRC in the last four years.
