USA Rugby Releases Return-to-Play Guidelines
USA Rugby Releases Return-to-Play Guidelines
USA Rugby has released a series of return-to-play protocols starting June 1, 2020.
The fact that the protocols go into place starting June 1 does not mean that people can start playing rugby on June 1.
The information uses the general protocol offered by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Rugby and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), all tailored to the common activities of USA Rugby Members. It is important to understand that the following outline is not official medical advice, whereby your club and athletes should more definitively refer to the instruction of your local health officials when determining a return to play calendar.
Given the close contact nature of rugby, it is important to note that rugby is rated as a sport that is highly risky in spreading respiratory diseases. The collective rugby community must remain patient and considerate through this process.
USA Rugby Return To Play Guidelines
Key to these guidelines is for athletes and teams to follow local mandates and see what is allowed based on those local mandates. If your local health guidelines say stay at home, even if another region is open to play, you have to follow what the rules are locally.
