Tennessee Playoff Update
Harpeth and the Ravenwood Raptors will meet for the Tennessee Boys HS Final after both won convincingly over the weekend in the semifinals.
The Raptors shut out Christian Brothers 34-0. Harpeth went 14 better, shutting out Barden 48-0.
H2 would score the first try of the match six minutes in with Wing Jack Ambrose going over. Scrumhalf Jack Shrader fed flyhalf Jameson Reagan, who passed to inside center Mitch Rossi, who put Ambrose away.
After a yellow card to Bearden, Shrader tapped quickly and fed lock Kyle Means, who would successfully place the ball for his second row partner Spencer Bennett to pick up go over for the second try.
The first half would see three more tries by Harpeth. Hooker Jacob Schoeff stole a Barden put-in at the scrum and Shrader and Reagan set up Rossi, who kept it to score under the posts. Zach Rademacher convrted that on. Prop Rooke Young took the ball from Shrader after a penalty close in for another. And then Rossie got his second. Harpeth led 29-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Reagan and Rossi ran a switch move that set up fullback Matthew Burns in the corner. Eli Katina, All-State Offensive Linemen from Centennial High School and a new H2 prop, surged over from close in. Reserve lock Christian Moolman would do much of the same with two minutes to play.
"It is always special to play on a pitch that is rugby-only: kudos to Marty Bradley and the Smokey Mountain Athletic Conference (SMAC) for hosting us at their awesome Knoxville facility," said Harpeth Director and Coach Scott Reagan. "Keeping Bearden off the scoreboard and our forwards scoring multiple tries in a state semi-final is testament to the high work rate we had in the forwards today which is a must-have on a day with sub-optimal weather conditions."
