The field of teams for the 2026 Boys HS Rugby National Championships has been finalized.

April 25 brought the final play-in match with Thunder capping off a strong regular season by beating Belmont Shore. They had already defeated SOC Raptors and so take the 2nd spot out of SoCal, with league-leaders (and defending national club champs) San Diego Mustangs back already.

Two more wild-card spots were open and those were nabbed by Carmichael and Missoula.

Here is the final list:

Single-School Teams
Gonzaga (DC)
Greenwich (CT)
Herriman (UT)
Notre Dame de la Salette (IL)
Sacramento Jesuit (CA)
St. Edward (OH)
St. Ignatius (OH)
Strake Jesuit (TX)
Xavier (NY)

HS Clubs
Carmichael Hawks (CA)
Cavemen (UT)
Charlotte Cardinals (NC)
Charlotte Tigers (NC)
Doylestown (PA)
Eastside Lions (WA)
Fort Hunt (VA)
Kansas City Jr. Blues (MO)
Layton Christian Academy (UT)
Missoula Stampede (MT)
Okapi (FL)
Raptor Rugby (TN)
San Diego Mustangs (CA)
The Woodlands (TX)
Thunder (CA)

Missoula earned a wild-card after a solid win over Kahuku over the past weekend, added to a good showing on their tour of Washington state. Fort Hunt has emerged as the top team in Virginia, while Okapi, now set to enter the Florida semis this coming weekend, put in a strong case with their results. Carmichael’s 4-0 run in the NorCal D1 Gold league moved the Hawks into consideration.

These teams will be seeded #1 through #8 for the Single-School and the HS Club brackets, respectively, and the remaining eight teams will be seeded into the Tier II championship.

All teams will play three 60-minute games over the course of May 21, 22, 23 at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Ind. Tickets are for sale at the gate. The tournament will be live-streamed thanks in part to sponsors such as World Rugby Shop and Irish Rugby Tours.
